猿投窯（さなげよう）とは、愛知県名古屋市東部の猿投山周辺に広がる、古墳時代から鎌倉時代まで約1000年続いた日本最大級の古窯跡群で、須恵器（すえき）や、日本で初めて本格的に焼かれた**灰釉陶器（かいゆうとうき）・緑釉陶器（りょくゆうとうき）**などを生産し、平安時代には「尾張瓷器（おわりしき）」として全国に流通した、古代から中世にかけての日本を代表する一大窯業地です。
